About Us
The company was established in the year 2000 to act as dedicated agents of X-Press Container Lines (UK) Ltd who operate a number of common user container feeder services to and from Karachi.
What is Feedering?
The concept dictates the movement of containers between major hub ports (situated on main sea trade routes) to “feed” Main Line Operator's (MLOs) vessels operating on major trade lanes. Feeder vessels serve ports where larger containerships cannot or for economic reasons do not call. Containers loaded by feeder vessels are then transshipped at hub ports onto larger main line container carriers for transport to ultimate destinations.
Advantages of Feedering
-
Eases the cargo burden of global carriers of sea freight.
-
Provides a shuttle to main liners operating between two short distance ports. This allows main liners to avoid short distance calls from their long haul routes, resulting in a reduction of cost & an expansion of service.
-
Encourages local exporters to compete in regional markets.
-
Enables Non-Vessel Operating Container Carriers (NVOCCs) to effectively move their own boxes.
